Poetic Verses
Bye My BROTHER
It is so true no one will ever see what happens tomorrow
Because i though as in my great moment of sorrow
Grieving the recent death of my dear mother
Would there would be more with the passing of my brother
My my flashes back to when we were children
Running around the house noisily and happily playing
And too at the seaside kicking up the sand
Splashing in the water only where we could stand
In the backyard where we played lots of cricket
Using boxes, old wash pans for out wicket
And our bats, board, rotten canes and coconut tree branched
My you hit that rubber strand ball a great distance
You seem to have a great knack for agriculture
In this you seem to find such a pleasure
Those frocklocing lambs, portly pigs and exhibition type cows
This was so remarkable and i give you many kados
What a admirable sight those green sturdy canes
To walk through them often brought aches and pains
And when we had to cut them, you were so fast
My dad, brother and and i always finished last
I often smile when i remember this occasion
We were cutting sour grass, that belonged to the plantation
The watchman was sitting facing west
Whilst we cut our bags full as he took his rest.
But Alas as me we more or less grew apart
There is always love and admiration in my heart
The deep shock of your quite sudden passing
Is so overwhelming and i am still adjusting
Now as you sail on your last voyage
I know that you shall have a smooth passage
As you know that heaven is the port of call
Rest in peace my brother, you know my tears shall fall
Because i though as in my great moment of sorrow
Grieving the recent death of my dear mother
Would there would be more with the passing of my brother
My my flashes back to when we were children
Running around the house noisily and happily playing
