The Universe At My Feet
If I could exit this place,
for a quest in deep space,
teleporting somewhere
right out of thin air
and leave not a ghost of a trace,
I'd become a sightseer
of that final frontier
throwing care to the wind,
starry-eyed with a grin,
as I'd much sooner be there than here.
Gazing new worlds nearby
with the unaided eye,
in the hope to unveil
that some life does prevail
beneath a vast alien sky.
like a daydream come true,
this Utopian view
of the celestial expanse
in my cosmic-like trance,
and best dream I ever pursued,
I would not be concerned
if I never returned
having been so enticed
by the strange paradise
full of long-hidden secrets I'd learned.
And it would be grand
if, right on command,
I could see and traverse
the entire universe
from this very spot right where I stand!
