He who dwells in the secret place,
Abides in the shadow of God;
The Almighty will shine His grace,
While he gives honor and laud.
He is my refuge and fortress,
Because the Lord to whom I trust;
He forgives to what I confess,
Knowing that He is fair and just.
He will deliver from the snare,
Set by a deadly pestilence;
Immunization He will share,
That will come from the turbulence.
He will cover with His pinions,
Under His wing you find refuge;
Faithfulness shields from opinion,
From the faithless with the deluge.
You will not fear terror from night,
Nor the arrows that fly by day;
While you are walking in His light,
As you keep trusting to obey.
Nor pestilence that stalks in dark,
Nor destruction that wastes noonday;
His light guides where I will embark,
That curbs me from going astray.
A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand upon His right;
All because they do not abide,
No wisdom that gives them insight.
He will only look with His eyes,
And see payment to the evil;
For he will see through their disguise,
Condemnation to the devil.
