In this is love, not that we love, But He loved us and sent His Son; Propitiation from above, For all of us to be as one. Beloved, if God has so loved us, We ought to love one another; Since God has been unseen as thus, Treat them as sister and brother. Because no one has ever seen, Simply God still abides within; For the love of Him that has been, Perfected for cleansing the sin. In Him we know that we abide, He has given us His Spirit; We have confessed and He replied, With salvation to inherit. We have seen and do testify, That He looked on us with favor; And decided to rectify, Sent His Son as our Savior. If you confess Jesus as Lord, And being as the Son of God; Then they will dwell in one accord, Are willing to honor and laud. So we come to know and believe, About the love God has for us; Eternal life they will receive, For His love that abides in us. By this is love been made perfect, So that we may have confidence; On Judgment Day not to reject, Jesus to be our defense. There is not any fear in love, For perfect love will cast it out; Fear has punishment thereof, Which is always be causing doubt. If you say that you love the Lord, But you are hating your brother; You lie and not in one accord, You are deceiving another. Copyright ©2022 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
