To the Lord, I lift up my soul,
O my God, in You, I do trust;
Because in You who I console,
Knowing You are faithful and just.
Let me never be put to shame,
Nor let foes triumph over me;
For I continue to proclaim,
As I follow what You decree.
None who wait shall be put to shame,
Let them have guilt of transgressions;
For they have defiled Your name,
As I pray for their confessions.
Make me to know Your ways of truth,
Teach me the path for salvation;
Guide me to void being uncouth,
As to be a new creation.
Remember with Your steadfast love,
For they have Your mercy and grace;
With blessings that flow from above,
As I await for Your embrace.
Good and upright are You, O Lord,
As You teach sinners the right way;
Because You are loved and adored,
Your Law I continue to obey.
You teach the humble what is right,
Following the straight and narrow;
Guiding them to stay in the light,
For eternity of tomorrow.
All of the paths for You O Lord,
Are faithfulness and steadfast love;
His covenant in one accord,
Mercy and truth come from above.
