The Day They Came

The day they came
The clouds were full of rain
But only missiles came down to reign
Sent by the insane
To unleash suffering and pain
In the country of Ukraine

The day they came
Civilians were killed in Putin’s name
And now nothing would ever be the same
Russia had now left an ugly stain
Inversible carnage and shame
Upon the people of Ukraine

The Day they came
Into a land they had no right to reclaim
And as snipers from afar took aim
Blinded by the sight of a roaring flame
From bombs dropped by a Soviet plane
Upon the cities of Ukraine

The Day they came
Russia had entered a unwinnable game
Because no Army can ever claim
The soul of a country that loves it's name
Pride and passion, you can never tame
They’ll curse the day they ever came
To the country of Ukraine
