Easter Poem

Easter isn't about the eggs nor the bunny
And it's not about the chick either
It's not about the egg hunts
It's not about the Easter baskets

And it's not about the candy either
The bunny didn't die for us
The chick didn't die for us either
What is the world even thinking?

Jesus lived a sinless life
He came to die for you and me
And that day He paid the ultimate price
He had overcome the world

It's about Christ's death, burial, and resurrection
It's all about what Jesus has done for us
Jesus Christ showed us the greatest love
He came to save you and me from our sins

Don't be thankful to the bunny
For he didn't die for us
And don't be thankful to the chick
The chick didn't die for us either

Be thankful to Christ Jesus who died for us
He took our sins upon Himself
He knew no sin; He lived a sinless life
Jesus came to earth to die for you and me

The world can have itself
Just give me Lord Jesus
Who died for you and me
Oh Precious Jesus, thank You

Christ's blood was shed for you and me
He thought of us when He was in agony
And He took our place on the cross
What a wonderful Saviour we have

Jesus paid a debt He didn't owe
We owed a debt that we couldn't pay
Thank You, Jesus, our Lord and Saviour
Our King of kings and Lord of lords

When there was no hope
Jesus brought us hope
Where there was darkness
He came as a Light that shines

Let's give all the glory and honor to Jesus
And let's all worship and praise Him
And be thankful for what He has done for you and me
Oh what a Wonderful Saviour we have
