Thuggerry

Were we the last generation
To be taught wrong from right:
The outlaws wore the black hats
The sheriffs ones of white..
The world so rapidly changed,
No need to restrain any urge
And so ever faster and faster
The divisions began to merge.
Now there are different values.
Good and bad have gone away.
We make our individual choices
And we all wear hats of grey.
In making this advance we seem
To have turned back to a stage
Where only winning matters in
This return to a barbarous age.
Ends justify the means whether
Our hats are black or white
Everything can now be justified
With the use of force and might.
How did we allow our world
To revert to this state
Of international thuggery,
Distrust, mistrust and hate.
