When it came to Lockdown
There wasn't much I missed,
Maybe the pub open mics,
And not getting half pissed.
To be honest I soon got used to that,
And groceries delivered to the door
Online shopping as well
And for so much more
And then came the day when
After more than two years
Came the time that it was
Deemed ok to reappear.
And the Covid deniers
Gave a loud cheer
And one year later on
Covid is still here
And some stranger
Has the nerve to ask
Why do I
Still wear a mask.
They look a bit affronted
When i reply
I'm at a that stage
When i'm soon likelyto die.
I'd rather follow the advice
Of a properly qualified man
A scientist of public note
Than a Sociual Media fan
One of those self appointed
Unqualified online Gurus.
You do what you will,
Its upto you to choose
I'd rather not a painful death
As a result of the action
Of a thoughtless,opinionated
Modern Luddite faction.
Life is so sweet
My intrusive friend
I wear my mask so as not
To hasten my inevitable end.
