Where is Honesty
Can we now say that honesty is now in peril
As today there is that thrust for things so material
It seems that no one gets admired for an intellect
But more for what they have to display
When present at any gathering this is the discussion
The expanse of someone's wealth or possession
Then there may be other who even more quietly
Would try to deduce how come this came so quickly
The glowing show of that sudden acquisition
Would in any case attract lots of attention
As one would see the types of characters in that connection
But who would dare try to make an objection
And so no matter the information will ignore
The advice of friends and family bringing it to fore
As this will certainly give such a feeling of power
And a life style that is comparatively better
This perceived good life is now flowing in those veins
Nothing or nobody shall make them grovel again
Continuing to live in a way that those eyes glow
Looking now for opportunities to make it grow
Not realizing that this is now a dangerous road
That thought has now become such a heavy load
In now too deep, seeing not that wrong step
But the situation is too dire to go back
Faced now with no other form of recourse
Forced to make shady deals is now a resource
Sleepless nights and feeling such hurt and pain
Such a situation cultivate such stress and strain
Some may say why worry get on with it anyway
This seems to be the accepted behavior of today
As people seem not to care about such anymore
Do any thing, as you explore for more
What about those high up in an organization
Many may have a pass that one can question
Even those lots of information is brought to light
None of them take that ethical step, and do what is to ight.
