You were dead in trespass and sin,
Of a lifestyle in this world;
Following the prince on a whim,
Disobedience being hurled.
A spirit that has gone wild,
Passions of the flesh that still lives;
Noncompliance of a child,
From a desire that still gives.
Lusts of the body and the mind,
By nature children of the wrath;
Even as the rest of mankind,
Righteousness tries to block the path.
But God rich in mercy and grace,
Because of His marvelous love;
Ready to forgive and embrace,
Wherewith He has loved us thereof.
Even when we were dead in sin,
We have been made alive in Christ;
By grace you are saved to begin,
With a life no longer enticed.
The Father raised us up with Him,
Through Christ in a heavenly place;
While feeling His spiritual vim,
His reflection shines on your face.
The coming age might show His wealth,
Of His grace and in His kindness;
As it renews spiritual health,
No longer touched by the blindness.
Through faith you have been saved by grace,
Because it is a gift from God;
No matter of what you may face,
Keeping you from becoming flawed.
Not from works that no one can boast,
It is workmanship from the Lord;
The Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost,
Wants you to be in one accord.
