Please vindicate me, O Lord,
I walk in integrity;
My trust not to be ignored,
Not wavering dignity.
Examine me and prove me,
Testing my heart and my mind;
Try my reins that You may see,
Unto You to be aligned.
Steadfast love before my eyes,
I walk in Your faithfulness;
As Your wisdom makes me wise,
Compassion has gracefulness.
I sit not with vain people,
Nor consort with hypocrites;
For I am Your disciple,
Because of Your benefits.
I hate the evil doers,
Who gather with the wicked;
Being darkness pursuers,
Demoralized and wretched.
My hands washed in innocence,
Encompassing Your altar;
For You are my best defense,
From the evil assaulter.
I laud thanksgiving aloud,
Telling of Your wondrous deeds;
I lift my eyes to the cloud,
Asking You to fill my needs.
I love dwelling in Your house,
To give glory and honor;
Worshipping beside my spouse,
Because I am a fawner.
Do not sweep my soul away,
With the bloodthirsty sinner;
For I do not go astray,
As a spiritual winner.
My foot stands on level ground,
Walking in integrity;
Your voice such a pleasant sound,
Lovingly gracious to me.
