I ask in the name of the Lord,
That every one of you agree;
We need to be in one accord,
No division is what I plea.
It has been reported to me,
There are contentions among you;
Causing divisions I can see,
Making it so hard to construe.
What I mean is that every one,
Should be following Jesus Christ;
The Spirit, Father, and the Son,
Not of others should be enticed.
Is the triune God divided?
Because Christ had been crucified;
Holy Trinity united,
So we need to be unified.
I thank God that I was baptized,
No one was baptized in my name;
Under God we were sanctified,
By the triune God we proclaim.
Whether baptized I do not know,
All are baptized in my household;
Allowing the blessings to flow,
While every day will unfold.
For Christ sent me not to baptize,
Rather for preaching the Gospel;
Eloquent wisdom to be wise,
Of an empty cross to people.
