Poetic Verses
To Mr Arthur
This occasion my spirits is so dampen
Because another friend has fallen
I am sure this has cause many to be heavy hearted
As it was so sudden, the way he departed
A voice so strong and so stentorian
A laughter that would be loud and long
And a voice that would be speak so pleasantly
When he is giving advice to anybody
There were time when on call at night
And something came up making things tight
You call him and he will answer at the first ring
That positive response made the spirit sing
Then you will listen as the laughter begun
Tell me my friend he said, what one earth took you so long
Just take a moment to notify the operator
Then I will come in a bit later
There was something in which he took great delight
To be a defendant of worker, standing up for their rights
This action was one in which there was such dedication
As he was a shop steward in the trade union
You made your contributions on this life's so humbly
Now you shall be in the presence of the almighty
To many of us you were well respected and a mentor
Teaching giving advice no matter time or the hour
It is very sad, you shall be missed now you are gone
Of course your memory and contributions shall live on
So rest in peace Sir Arthur Pounder
But effervescent "Quincy" shall live on forever
Because another friend has fallen
I am sure this has cause many to be heavy hearted
As it was so sudden, the way he departed
A voice so strong and so stentorian
A laughter that would be loud and long
