Harry Sweeden. My life in verse.

I am a contradiction

not whom I should be

not sure of who I really am?

I only know I’m me.

Born a gentle stranger

in a furnace of contempt

forced to witness far too much

in a world where hope was spent.

Growing was so stressful

never time to sit and learn

too many fights and arguments

...waiting for my turn.

Now I am this contradiction

strong but oh so weak

I feel I have the right to answer…

but do more damage when I speak.

I crave for the love of another

but sit quietly by no one’s side

and should a smile pass my way

I choose to run and hide.

I was never born a fighter

but it is what I’ve become

learning so young to defend myself

I became a loaded gun.

Now everything I thought I was

it seems that I was wrong

living a life of contradictions

has seen everything I thought… undone!
