Birds
How often in younger days I had such admiration
For birds as they moved in the air such volation
Seeming in a mood depicting such gay abandon
Soaring in the sky at varying elevations
What too was how they did their landing
Something too those pilot with those plane were emulating
But this too was something that held my gaze
Those ones that the water touch the water surface
As a youngster on school's break for vacation
Watching them will take lots of my attention
Because around that time will appear a different specie
That was certain to appear seasonally
We would as a group, they our attention would attract
And of course such we made effort to catch
But they would run and we follow expending energy trying
Then after this they took to the air flying
Those black birds look like dots on the scene
The old folks said they sound like singing Miss Bessie Green
Also some were picking the tick off the body of cows
Whilst other found worms in the ground freshly ploughed
How cannot forget this bird that so busily flit
It made a sound we would call it pee wit
It has been years I have seen them around
And cannot remember seeing any of them on the ground
Many of us tried to catch a bird called the canary
It's yellow plumage made it looked a beauty
But we tried all manner they to capture
And it seems that they were very clever
But sometimes we too went on a quest
To see the manner and style of the nest
Some seem not to have no type of technique
Because many of them looked so incomplete
This one I certainly then and now still admire
Was that built by the little sparrow
That seems to place it was such precision
One wondered if it was a mathematician
How beautiful was that attractive near spherical shape
And those layers and the make, made the mouth gape
But the entrance was place in a way do carefully
It had to be closely inspected to be able to see
This well constructed and tight pattern
In the wind and rain, provided great protection
So it remained, but if it was touched or even displace from its position
This sent a signal for it to get abandon
For birds as they moved in the air such volation
