 ramblings and things

In The Blink Of An Eye.

There are countless stars that,
Over time, birth flourish and die
The comparative span of a species
Is just the mere blinking of an eye.
The Aliens visited our Earth
And decided to explore,
Almost got trampled and eaten
By a hungry charging dinosaur.
Any evidence of their visit
Was very sadly destroyed
By the dinosaur erasing
Giant crashing asteroid.
Their Sun went supernova
As the Star of Bethlehem
So they never ever got
To visit our planet again.

It's a certainly there's more life
In our Galaxy deep, far and wide
Distances so great it's unlikely
Their flowering will coincide.
For an instant they bloomed
And then they were gone
Hoping in the Galatics depths
Other life forms carry on.
The quest for knowledge
And the ultimate goal
Of understand and being
Part of creation's whole.
On such differing time scales
Different rules come into play
A million years of our time are,
But the passing of a galactic day.
