Happy Father's Day Dad
Those many moments, those times of such treasures
Bringing out happiness exceeding all measures
They no doubt can never be replaced
Footsteps that shall never be retraced
These are moment so awesome to remember
Spending do happily in the presence of a loving father
To me he was such a beacon of strength, a tower
Always lifting me up to ride on his shoulders
Many a day he took me to the sea
Pretending to ignore my screams, and frightful plea
As he swam to navigate the rough water expertly
So that the billows would not break over me
He took me on my first visit to the city
A trip that I was looking forward to so expectantly
Making those mental notes of what I saw there
That on returning home I was very happy to share
Moving on to my teenage days
He was very patient and understanding in so many ways
Teaching how to look at things from many directions
Saying thinking is important when looking at situations
Then that day come when I stood there is a man
Those many subtle lessons, I now in understand
As I was now setting off on my life's journey
Now having to make decisions, and independently
There is no doubt that I missed you now you are gone
How those fond memories still live on
That day as I looked down on you, there was a smile on your face
So keep testing in peace, so happy father's Day in your eternal place
