Oh give thanks unto the Lord,
His love endures forever;
Needs to be loved and adored,
Steadfast and will not sever.
Let the redeemed of the Lord,
Who were redeemed from trouble;
Never let it be ignored,
He pulled you from the rubble.
You were gathered from the lands,
From the west and from the east;
The north and south He commands,
While He prepares the feast.
Some wandered in desert wastes,
In a solitary way;
Sees no way for the foretastes,
Desires to make them stray.
Their souls fainted within them,
For they hungered and have thirst;
They felt that God did condemn,
With feeling as being cursed.
So they cried unto the Lord,
To rescue from their distress;
Confessing of their discord,
And asking of Him to bless.
He led them by a straight way,
Till they reached a place to dwell;
As they promised to obey,
He delivered them from hell.
Let the thank and praise the Lord,
Because of His steadfast love;
As children in one accord,
His blessings flow from above.
He fulfills the longing soul,
Satisfied with the good things;
As He comforts to console,
All the nourishment He brings.
