The Law of the Lord is perfect,
Reviving the soul making wise;
Only the foolish would reject,
As to opening up their eyes.
The precepts of the Lord are right,
Rejoicing hearts to make them pure;
Enlightening to give insight,
And comforting as to assure.
The fear of the Lord always clean,
The judgments of the Lord are true;
The same as it always has been,
To the righteous as they construe.
Desires more are they than gold,
Also much sweeter than honey;
Given as a gift and not sold,
For they are worth more than money.
By them is your servant forewarned,
In keeping them is a great reward;
Being given when you were formed,
For honor and laud to the Lord.
Who can understand his errors,
Declare innocent of their faults;
The Lord protects you from terrors,
And any temptation that halts.
Avoid any presumptuous sin,
Let them not having dominion;
Becoming purified within,
Detour from evil opinion.
Let the words from lips and tongue,
And meditation of the heart;
That is acceptable as is flung,
True to the Lord that you impart.
