The end came suddenly
But what did they expect
I was after shift tired and
In no mood to show respect.
I should have been sleeping
After a long night shift
Difficuty concentrating
Mty thoughs all adrift.
Not answering stupid questions
By one of the Retired Officer Class
I thought he was stupid
His attitude was crass
I think i must have
Let my opinion show
I could feel his antipathy
Steadily grow and grow.
So that was it
In all but name
So i said goodbye to
My Barmy Army Game
To civilan life
A much wiser man
Than that fatefday
My miitary life began.
Perhaps a little bitter
And just a littlle bit sad
Grateful for the folks I'd met
And experiences I'd had.
The counbtry joskin
Now all but gone
Ready for new experiences
Ready to move on.
