So envious
They let go of the jackpot
Not wanting anyone else to have it
Now watching them suffer
Yet their guilt is eating them alive
The regret and remorse shows in their eyes
They try to undo the damage they did now it's eating them up
Only they may not be able to undo all the damage
They cry themselves to sleep
Eaten by their shadows
They hurt the one who knew everything that could help them
Only to find they were innocent
Too proud to ask for forgiveness so they lay there
Thinking of the what ifs and it could of been and they should have
They're trapped in a life they truly despise
So envious they hate on everyone else
They have things, but can never find satisfaction
Their greed is eating them
