Beware Hurricane

It is summertime, what a moment to be happy
People are making plans, oh how ready
But in the midst of joy, spirits can get dampen
Because this time is when we have to endure a hurricane season

Some may start in the Pacific Ocean under one name
The enter the the Atlantic Ocean and get renamed
But whether it comes down with one or the other
The potential destruction can cause lots of bother

But let us look at some of see such note
That was the route taken by those of slaver boats
As they collected human cargo on the African coast
Bringing them here to work under such brutal force

They were brought by force to these shores
A lot of hardship and disparaging they had to endure
Maybe the hurricanes came with to take revenge
But it's now the slaves'descendants on whom the rage got dispensed

Of course summer is that time to have fun
What a time to frolic in the water enjoying the sun
But always keep an ear tuned for changes in the weather system
And may preparations to see off any disruption

I as one who has seen first hand, first time one of them
Believe me I hope not to see one of such magnitude again
It is not easy living in a shelter, there is not much privacy
So re-enforce your property, so as to make it more securely
