Always Deep Blue (written 7/3-7/6/2022)

behind the clouds
hide blue skies
and on the windshield
are the long pulled tails
of raindrops
looking like the abbreviated journeys
of common snails.

I can think like that;
clouded and dark
and seemingly unable to acknowledge
the sun
and how it rises and shines somewhere
each and every day.

I've made the mistake
of seeing my daily steps through life
as plodding and routine,
not taking into account
whose paths I've crossed and
in doing so, perhaps, changed the course
of those paths.

this is my wish for you
(take what suits you...)
whatever path you choose, my love,
whatever sky you walk under
may your path be long
knowing that somewhere above you
the sky
(your sky)
will always be a very deep, deep blue.

Comment: Sometimes I tire of the feedback format here.
Folks tend to interpret a writer's poem from their own
vantage point and life experience. Often, though, something
written so simply, is far from simplistic. This is far deeper
than the simplicity of its language. Those who see and interpret
and read this...I more than appreciate you. Summing someone's poetry
with a simple "good, excellent etc...isn't the purpose of giving feedback
its sharing, when you can, your support of the artist's word choice
giving constructive criticism...and if you find a message or idea
that makes an impression on you, then say something!!!  Good/excellent
etc is your opinon only and fails to convey/say much other than somethig about you.
I learned this from my friends here, Yirrpa, Geisha, Ramona and many others...
I hope you do as well. This is my hopefully constructive feedback.
