Not far from a dream to a sigh

In the still of the night I can feel her,

As she stirs by my side in her sleep,

Her bare legs across mine, a twitch

Of her thighs, her ‘love you’ soft lips

On my cheek.

A wild combination of wanting,

A need to be closer than this,

An awareness of flesh, when no

Words need be said, for what words

Could suffice for a kiss?

In the cosy warm nest of belonging,

Comes a ‘can’t you sleep, neither can I,’

Bury lips in her neck, her shoulders,

Her breasts, it’s not far from a drean

To a sigh.
