Talk To Me In The Dark 7/8/2022

my hands smell of fat and seasonings
the meal you prepared with care
has scented my hands

you are such a good cook
and I try things you make
that I wouldn't normally eat
your relish for the task at hand
convinces me
there is a new enjoyment here
a sort of bold adventure

its in your smile
and that wink you give me when
you talk to me in the dark
its in the smell of you
I'd like the opportunity to memorize

you are new adventures
you are a sweet mystery
you are yourself
and that
for me is the detail that is
best of all
