One Day At The Dentist's Office

We arrived there first thing,

around eight in the morning.

They took us right in,

and without any warning,

the dentist appeared

with his hypo in hand,

and I grabbed onto my wife,

just as we had planned.

That toothache persisted

for nearly a year,

but we put off the dentist

just out of plain fear.

The nerve-wracking feeling

of anticipating;

that three-inch-long needle

was what kept us waiting!

The dentist assured us

there would be no doubt

that once he went in

the tooth would pop out!

the tooth is now gone,

and I'm doing fine;

I'm so glad it was her tooth,

and not one of mine!
