Poetic Verses
What we may leave
There is no doubt that parent want to leave a legacy
So that their offspring could live a bit comfortably
But yet there is very effort trying to preserve in anyway
The life of the earth, and how much more it can give away
There is that readiness to tap in the mineral content
That greed so intense there is no plan to relent
And too not much care in depositing those reaction products
Be it river, lakes, ocean, who will make any type of raucous
How many try to look at what is such a fact
That this action will at sometime have a negative impact
And therefore should try very hard to understand
That such action can actually destroy an ecosystem
How often one hear of a tanker carrying oil
Have in a sector of the water a spill has spoil
Area which have been a sanctuary for species so rare
Now the oil have reduced that ability to fly from there
What about those living in the vicinity of a refinery
Many complain that they are not living too comfortably
And being there after many years of such an exposure
Now have some respiratory problem, others even cancer
But what about those fish living in waters of such pollution
And there may be such a variety of the marine population
As their tissue absorb the pollutant mercury
How on consumption we are getting a toxic meal so slowly
Yes there too is this complaint of such great heat
And evaporation of water is not is going to hard to defeat
So do not be surprise if you in any encounter this danger
That on looking into your swimming pool, there rest an alligator
