Go eat your bread with a joy,
Drink your wine with a glad heart;
God approved that you employ,
The merriness to impart.
Wear of garments that are white,
Let your head not lack oil;
For God favors of the sight,
To rest after you toil.
Enjoy living with your wife,
He gave you under the sun;
Being the love of your life,
Giving a daughter and son.
In life that is your portion,
To toil under the sun;
To construe from distortion,
Comfort from a job well done.
What your hand may find to do,
Do it with all of your might;
What work you want to pursue,
That God favors in His sight.
No work knowledge or wisdom,
Wherever that you may go;
Have thoughts about His Kingdom,
From the wisdom, He will show.
