The bare tree
Wintery
Storms starting October
Flurrying snowflakes in December
It stands there until the end of March with a nesting Lark
Not a complaint or a sound coming from its bark
Wicked winds and nesting birds starting March and thundery showers in April
Scorching heatwaves and no ice, no tears, just strong and wakeful
All of May, June, July
The tree now has youth it can nurture fully
Kids begin picking off the apples all of August
Right through until September and October because fresh Apple pie is a must
The tree stands there as their Fostered youth reach the end of their life, the tree sheltered many people not judging even a thief
Nobody walks past to think of how much this tree has seen like losing its neighbours youth or even their grief
It's now December and this tree is bare watching people stomping over their youth, but stands tall
They will lose their babies again in the next fall
Its there in December covered in snow
Not at any moment do you hear this tree cry for help
Never any moment in time do you hear this tree chelp
