Selected Poems
Quarter Mile
Every night with open windows
we drag race in our dreams.
We meet under a drive-by moon.
We will see each other pass
through clouds of tire smoke
burnt blue, waxing and waning.
Start to finish is a few seconds.
Now waking and walking is sorrow.
I race to sleep hoping to see you.
