The rich in this present age,
Charge them not to be haughty;
Nor set their hopes at this stage,
Allows them to be naughty.
The uncertainty of wealth,
Who does richly provide joy;
Giving no spiritual health,
Honoring God to employ.
Rich in good works to do good,
Ample and ready to share;
Distributing as you should,
To those that are in despair.
Thus storing their own treasure,
For the future foundation;
Taking hold for their pleasure,
From their greedy temptation.
Maybe for eternal life,
In their commitment to trust;
Avoidance of any strife,
That energizes their lust.
Avoid the contradictions,
The babble which is in vain;
The falsified predictions,
Appearing to be profane.
Concerning the faith to err,
Confession will bring you grace;
Unto the Lord in your prayer,
Who is willing to embrace.
