I will teach transgressors His ways,
And sinners will return to God;
For confessing as someone prays,
Worshipping to honor and laud.
Deliver from bloodguiltiness,
God gives the gift of salvation;
To sing along in righteousness,
To make you a new creation.
Allow your lips to open up,
That your mouth will declare His praise;
His salvation will fill your cup,
The gift of forgiveness always.
You delight not in sacrifice,
And not pleased with burnt offering;
As long as this world will entice,
Causing you strife with suffering.
The cause is a broken spirit,
Of a broken and contrite heart;
God will not despise your merit,
From repentance that you impart.
Do good within your good pleasure,
As you build up fortified walls;
You shall inherit His treasure,
As His Spirit deletes your flaws.
Delight in the right sacrifice,
Burnt offerings on the altar;
But repentance will pay the price,
Anytime that you may falter.
