Selected Poems
Somewhere over the rainbow, it's a wonderful world
A year from here we see
there is no time to lose
rearranging and fluffing pillows.
punching cotton in the parlour.
Any mourners who are left
can find and fix their own seats.
There is still some summer.
Put on your funeral best
and rebel noose of a tie.
We are headed to the beach.
Sunset burns the ocean
gold beyond the breakers.
Quick, run barefoot across
the sand and jump in the water.
Who cares if you can't swim,
grab your board and ride every wave.
The moon will have to wait.
there is no time to lose
rearranging and fluffing pillows.
punching cotton in the parlour.
Any mourners who are left
can find and fix their own seats.
There is still some summer.
Put on your funeral best
and rebel noose of a tie.
We are headed to the beach.
Sunset burns the ocean
gold beyond the breakers.
Quick, run barefoot across
the sand and jump in the water.
Who cares if you can't swim,
grab your board and ride every wave.
The moon will have to wait.
