The Snake
Very early in the morning my walk, I usually take
Enjoying the pleasure of seeing another day break
The hens scratching disturbing insects as they need
Clicking loudly to alert their chickens it's time to feed
That beautiful colour of that riding sun's light
How those many colourful arrangements made such awesome sight
The cruise ships like if they be from the horizon drop
As they sailed slowly into the harbour to dock
Those cricket crickets chirping and that monotonous sound
What an annoyance it was that one quickly moved along
But what was always like such good music to hear
Was that of the birds, telling you that daybreak was near
But something caught my eye on the road one day
At first I was a bit startled this I would say
Because I came across it so unexpectedly
There coiled in concentric circles so geometrically
I am sure many would understand to what I relate
That was was so tightly wrapped would have been a snake
There its body closed and therefore at rest in this state
A means of keeping warm as the day slowly awakes
Then in a flash it's body quickly straighten
Instantly it formed what looked like a wavelike pattern
Then as I watched it swiftly moved over the ground
Those waves and S's, carried it quickly over the ground
Enjoying the pleasure of seeing another day break
The hens scratching disturbing insects as they need
Clicking loudly to alert their chickens it's time to feed
That beautiful colour of that riding sun's light
How those many colourful arrangements made such awesome sight
The cruise ships like if they be from the horizon drop
