Be a Friend
There are moments when at an end, we depend
On that love and support extended by be a friend
Always there and with little difficulty extend that hand
Staying there right through to the bitter end
One who no doubt shall always put you right
No matter if the reason is not pleasing in your sight
And if in the process draw out you ire
Hopefully this is something that the union shall desire
The times when you fall hard to the ground
And those misfortunes seem to follow you arousrd
Who will be there to encourage and promote hope
That friend providing that catalyst for you to cope
When do life challenges have your back against the rope
And like a battered boxer, into that space you grope
That person who comes along and provide that illumination
To light your path to chart a new direction
All human beings like some quality in their lives
But sometimes we may fall short of getting that prize
Then dejection comes, bringing a feeling of not wanting to budge
But who comes along and mercifully gives that nudge
Friendship is something the certainly does not require
A buyer, to be leased and of course not for hire
That combination of minds, and a form of mutuality
That somehow have an adhesion just so magically
