Poetic Verses

That Night

This is a moment which I humourously remember
My first encounter and it never happened after
It happened after night of partying and fun
Lost track of time, even when the last bus run

Watching my friend departed to their various destinations
Quite oblivious to what is was my situation
So I hurried of to await for the public transportation
And stood there at stop, for ones going in my direction

But there was something that seems strange to me
Because no matter how I looked no one else I see
But as I stood there waiting, praying and hoping
Many taxis came and stopped, their drivers inquiring

My refusal sent them speedily on their way
Because I at this time what price I had to pay
Now seeing them around, and I was there alone
The reality of my situation then came home

Those minibuses that usually run a bit later
Were not around so that means it was a serious matter
Because this shows now that I was really stranded
And into the predicament in which I have landed

So looking around I set off for the nearest beach
And sat under the nearest shelter I reach
So having no choice, but to spend the rest of the night
Under the stars, watching the twinkle so bright
