The Lord is my salvation,
And my light, whom shall I fear?
I am His new creation,
And knowing that He is near.
The Lord is my strength in life,
Of whom shall I be afraid;
My stronghold against the strife,
Like a thief that comes to raid.
Enemies assail to steal,
My adversaries and foes;
They stumble having no zeal,
The flesh falls as their blood flows.
A hostile army encamps,
But my heart shall never fear;
For the foot of the Lord stamps,
Their encampment so severe.
For I will be confident,
If war rises against me;
His promise is evident,
As my guardian to see.
What I have asked of the Lord,
I seek to dwell in His house;
Let me be in one accord,
All of my days with my spouse.
Never let me be ignored,
During times of my trouble;
For faithfulness of the Lord,
Rescue me from the rubble.
Times of trouble He hides me,
Undercover to conceal;
On His rock, He will decree,
His secrets He will reveal.
My head shall be lifted up,
Above the wicked and foes;
I drink from the sacred cup,
So that my righteousness grows.
