I lift my eyes unto the hills,
From whence who will render my aid;
I am in need to cure my ills,
My enemies make me afraid.
For my help has come from the Lord,
Who created Heaven and earth;
As whom will be loved and adored,
In giving us such priceless worth.
He will not let your foot be moved,
He who keeps you will not slumber;
Giving insight that we behooved,
For the trials we encumber.
He who keeps watch on Israel,
As will neither slumber nor sleep;
For confidence to make them feel,
Like a shepherd watching His sheep.
Let the Lord to be your keeper,
As the Lord is always your shade;
So your restful sleep is deeper,
No longer will you be afraid.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
Nor the moon not strike you by night;
Because that you trust and obey,
You are a blessing in His sight.
The Lord will keep you from evil,
He will preserve your soul and life;
Blocking allures from the devil,
Protecting from the midst of strife.
The Lord will keep your going out,
And the times of your coming in;
From this time forth without a doubt,
And evermore be free of sin.
