Time to see
Let us as a people try using more imagination
As a test try to monitor and even critique what is on television
Thinking widely about the service, impact and perhaps function
So that there can be an informed decision, based on some reasoning
But today as we can see on those cable stations
Some of those hosts have taken broadcasting to a lowly direction
As they focus more on competing for those prime time ratings
And in the process there is that downward spiral in the level of reporting
There are some who seem to have no subtlety in their sights
And their biases they show and with lots of delight
Will readily distort, rearrange alter to suit their spin
Fashioning an item to appear so favorable to anyone they are backing
There is something healthy and helpful if there are opposing views
This will allow as great diversity of ideas to be in the pools
But to be sitting there so smug and lying to such a great extent, with intent
The have the nerve to day that you are exercising your right as laid out in the first amendment
Knowing full well that it can incense a sector of the population
Who are quite will to believe your altered and twisted verbal dispensation
As the may have the means, or the will to research your information
But would willingly believe because it came from your station
Yes indeed there are studios whose hosts try to bring some balance
Bringing guests for interviews who take a more objective stance
No shouting, not being combative, to spur on viewers
But provide some food for thought, for those who are thinkers
So is it now we can say that those days when one watches an discussion
There is little chance of getting any type of information
Because there shall be nothing there that you can gleam
To use when your time has come to be on a debating team
Lately some guest can seen resorting to anger and such shouting
And too a degree of racism and election denying
Also too such can also be even featured by some of the hosts
It seems that this allows the guests to behave even worst
So people I beg you take a break from the television
And sit in a room, with friends and include the children
There should be going some form of thought provoking discussion
