Writing poems by the grace of God,
I will never be losing heart;
Continue to honor and laud,
His mercy will never depart.
I have renounced disgraceful ways,
Refusing to tamper with truth;
Temptation and deceit that strays,
In the sight of God in their youth.
Even if the Gospel is veiled,
It is hid to them that are lost;
Because their search has been curtailed,
They are perishing at a cost.
The god of this world made them blind,
To keep them from seeing the light;
Having unbelief in their mind,
That is clouding any insight.
It is not myself that I preach,
Rather Christ Jesus our Lord;
Into the darkness where I reach,
For those who seem to have ignored.
Let the light shine out of darkness,
And to shine from the inner heart;
The emptiness of their starkness,
That will make darkness to depart.
