I charge you in front of God,
Judges the living and dead;
That you will honor and laud,
For the salvation Christ bled.
Preach the Word for this reason,
Complete patience in teaching;
Set in and out of season,
Rebuke another preaching.
The time comes for sound doctrine,
To hear the truth that is just;
Endure to gain discipline;
To avoid passionate lust.
Itching ears has made them stray,
By wandering from the truth;
To the Word they disobey,
Rebelliously in their youth.
Always be sober-minded,
And to endure suffering;
Never to become blinded,
What Satan is conjuring.
So fulfill your ministry,
Poured as a drink offering;
Preaching of the mystery,
That others are censoring.
For I have fought the good fight,
And I have finished the race;
And kept the faith in His light,
For a blessing from His grace.
For a crown of righteousness,
The Lord gives as an award;
For my humbled graciousness,
For obeisance to the Word.
