While we were still weak, Christ died at the right time; For the heathen to seek, Redemption for their crime. One who did scarcely die, For someone good would dare; No longer would they lie, Through confession to share. God commanded His love, When we were still sinners; The Father from above, Blest to make us winners. We are now justified, Much more we shall be saved; Through Christ was crucified, Sin has no more enslaved. If while we were foes, God has reconciled; For faith and trust from those, Become undefiled. Joy comes through our Lord, Through whom we have received; God be loved and adored, Atonement who has believed. Copyright ©2022 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
