I kind of miss that noise
All those busy bee mums getting on and off the buses
The grannies giving their precious gems a marvelous adventure
The workers trotting on and off and the cars opening and slamming shut
The neighbours having a little tiff up here and there
Those busy Saturdays in the shop next door
To a complete silent Sunday with only one bus every hour
All those families off to the supermarket
It was a joy in that cold ole terraced hours with a night mare of slugs through the airraid shelter
They bred a home in the deep.dark muddy cellar until mum called the extermination team
All the cellar was completely cleared up and the home was sprayed each season but Summer
The home was huge and a nightmare to clean
Just the vacuuming took an hour and let's not even get started on cleaning those carpets
Especially in high traffic areas
Yes please let's talk about those beautiful long baths in that beautiful bathroom where you could see the stars at night
Let's not talk about how many times mum told me off for forgetting to close the skylight
Coming home in a huge puddle that a huge dehumidifier took care of instantly
Unless its were a hot day tomorrow
What a genal and the basketball and don't get me started on football
Or those bumpy bike rides please
Or the fact I had a BFF round every corner
They were the best years of my life
I kind of miss that noise
That ole noisy main road until mum moved someplace else and the adventure was new
Though I still kept my friends and these memories are still alive
Each time I pass it on the bus I almost weep
I really miss that place
