God is my light and salvation, So to whom shall I ever fear; The stronghold of His creation, That I shall forever revere. When the wicked and evildoers, It is they who stumble and fall; Adversaries are pursuers, Trying to eat my flesh will crawl. Though an army camps against me, I am confident without fear; Warring factions that I can see, Are continuing to draw near. What I desire from the Lord, That I seek to dwell in His house; So I can stay in one accord, And comfortably with my spouse. In times of trouble, He hides me, Conceals me from the coming storm; In the calm He lets me go free, To continue doing my norm. And now my head be lifted up, Above my foes that surround me; The sacrificed joy fills my cup, Causing my enemy to flee. Copyright ©2022 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
