Nocture

After wind has done its work, head home west.
Hide and go seek sun plays behind the horizon
hints come tangerine gold from slate blue sky.
Teases where home is and where you want to be.
Skeleton trees bend arm bones to wave hand fans
say goodbye, as you drive further, down the road.

Home sounds closer and closer
around another highway corner.
Here landmarks return familiar
groves and splinter fence posts.
Arrive before settling dust of dusk.
Lemon yellow porch light clicks on.

Good night, darling.
