Echoes Of Forgotten Dreams
Long lost from me for a time,
but then, to my surprise,
the night, it seems, brought distant dreams
before my weary eyes.
Triggered by entrancing sounds
that echoed soft and slow,
my mind re-streamed what I had dreamed
so many years ago.
Their re-appearance made it clear,
my dreams were still ongoing,
with timely endings still impending
all without my knowing.
Can there be hidden messages
in cryptic dreams that speak,
as guiding lights that spark insights
when things are looking bleak?
Once we're awake, we tend to take
their meanings to extremes,
while the unstirred mind is strangely blind
to long forgotten dreams.
