I did not come to proclaim, The testimony of God; Rather the wisdom of shame, That has caused you to be flawed. Not for knowing anything, Except Christ was crucified; Of forgiveness, it would bring, In knowing why He had died. I was with you in weakness, And in fear and much quiver; That was coming from bleakness, To baptize in the river. My speech and my preaching, Were not with enticing talk; Rather wisdom in teaching, For you to righteously walk. To demonstrate His Spirit, So that your faith might not rest; With power what you merit, That you always do your best. Copyright ©2023 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
