Bless is the man who fears the Lord, Who greatly delights in His rules; Always walking in one accord, Avoiding the darkness and fools. His offspring mighty in the land, Upright generation to bless; On solid rock not sinking sand, The Word of God they will profess. Wealth and riches are in his house, Righteousness endures forever; Pure relationship with his spouse, And a love that will not sever. The light dawns in the darkness, He is merciful and righteous; Compassion exposes starkness, Of those who have been contentious. A good man shows favor and lends, Guiding his affairs in judgment; Always he righteously defends, That is considered reverent. The righteous shall never be moved, To be remembered forever; His wisdom has always behooved, No one is able to sever. He is not afraid of bad news, A firm heart that trusts in the Lord; A steady heart able to choose, Triumph over foes that abhorred. He distributes unto the poor, His horn will exalt in honor; Because righteousness will endure, He is considered a fawner. The wicked man sees and is grieved, Gnashes his teeth and melts away; Because he never has believed, As they will perish and decay. Copyright ©2023 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
