Shattered and Broken Dreams

My mind swims away with thoughts, thrusting violently between my ears.
Anger swarms in my heart, and slashes like lightning piercing my stomach as it churns.
The woman stares at me from the glass.
I don't recognize her.
The Sparkle in her eyes have dimmed and tarnished.
Sadness and confusion replaces the smile that once would shine on any rainy day.
Now only tears fall from her cloudy blue eyes.
Betrayed by the devil herself, and dropped by the knight that held her.
The knife still clinging, deep in my back,
Blood dripping from Satan's hands,
As she laughs maniacally ….
The Devil's black hair glistens and red lips mock my pain.
“Poor dumb foolish girl. This is you're doing,”
She laughs.
my Knight stands, frozen in time
eyes wide as a deer, unable to run as life strikes him at his weakest .
And he fell.
With it, my heart shattered, breaking his fall.
Pieces, jagged and broken around us.
A puzzle, sharp, and dangerous to put back together.
A tragic story, with a broken ending.
A lullaby, broken by dissonance.
A broken heart stranded in time.
